The season 3 finale of crime/drama/thriller "Haven" is set for December 21st on Showcase, but fans needn't not fear – the network just picked up the well-watched sci-fi show for another 13 episodes for season 4, which will air next year.

The renewal was announced this past Friday. "Haven" follows the people of Haven, Maine, a seemingly quaint seaside town with a mysterious side where certain residents have supernatural abilities. It stars Emily Rose ("Harry's Law," "Perfect Plan"), Lucas Bryant ("Perfect Plan," "Faux Baby"), Eric Balfour ("Christine," "No Ordinary Family"), and Richard Donat ("Moby Dick"). It's been nominated for a total of five awards so far, including an Astra Award as well as a number of Directors Guild of Canada honours. It is filmed primarily on location in Chester, Nova Scotia, and airs on the SyFy channel in the States as well.

Rose, Balfour and Bryant are all returning for the fourth season. Producers are promising to reveal a number of secrets before the third season ends, creating much anticipation for the recently announced fourth.

"Haven" currently airs on Friday nights at 9pm.
