I've said repeatedly that Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye is the best TF comic series we've ever had, and I say that as a guy whose comic collection began with Marvel's original series back in 1984. Now maybe you can see why I'm so nuts about this in a Crave Online exclusive preview of next week's issue, and you can use my review from the last one to get you up to speed.
The crew of the Lost Light – the craft led by Rodimus that's off on a quest far from their home planet of Cybertron – is trying to help rouse one of their friends from a coma by telling him a collaborative story, and this one happens to be a true tale that very much resembles a kind of police procedural show – but it's a hell of a lot more than that. James Roberts' dense storytelling and engaging dialogue along with Alex Milne's wonderfully detailed art give these robots a life beyond the toy shelf to which they might otherwise be relegated – and too often are by comic fans, even.
But this stuff is good and definitely worth your time to check out.
