A new lot of terrible drivers are set to take the helm.

Since its debut seven years ago, more than 50 drivers have participated in "Canada's Worst Driver" and endured their unique and intensive rehabilitation on the Discovery Channel. Now, as season 8 begins on the network on October 29th, another eight drivers will be added to their distinguished roster of terrible drivers.

Nominated by a friend or family member, the contestants are filmed (much to our amusement and eye-rolling) as they are put through various tests in a controlled driving environment and evaluated by a panel of driving experts. Each participant must pass basic training as well as more advanced techniques for dealing with Canada’s trickiest city driving situations before graduating from their "rehab" program.

More than 3.1 million viewers tuned in last season to watch the driving madness, making it the top non-sports series on specialty television.

The show is hosted by actor and writer Andrew Younghusband, and its panel of experts have included: Cam Woolley, traffic expert and former OPP sergeant; Philippe Letourneau, a professional high-performance driving instructor; and Peter Mellor, an instructor with the Advanced Motoring Bureau (AMB). More than 1,000 people applied for the eighth season of "Canada's Worst Driver" this time around.

Look for the season 8 premiere of "Canada's Worst Driver" on October 29th starting at 10pm.
