Near the end of "Community" season 3, "Digital Estate Planning" was unveiled as a special episode that featured Jeff (Joel McHale), Annie (Alison Brie), Britta (Gillian Jacobs), Troy (Donald Glover), Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown) and Abed (Danny Pudi) playing a custom made old school video game, "Journey to the Center of Hawkthorne” to help Pierce (Chevy Chase) save his inheritance from the initially malevolent Gilbert (Giancarlo Esposito).

"Digital Estate Planning" was incredibly well received among fans and critics alike. And now, "Journey to the Center of Hawkthorne” actually exists thanks to the dedicated team at Project Hawthorne.

Although the "Community" inspired video game is still in a very early beta stage, it is already partially playable with the option to control any of the Greendale 7. The game also offers up a few additional characters and costumes, including Pierce's Pillowman incarnation, Brittasaurus Rex, Constable Reggie,  Jeff's Seacrest Hulk, Abed's Batman, David Beckham and more.

Further updates to the game are being tracked on Reddit. There were several levels of the "Journey to the Center of Hawkthorne” game that weren't seen in the TV show, but it would be a nice touch if the Project Hawthorne actually creates the entire game in playable form.
