Are We There Yet? – L’Auberge de Sedona

A getaway to majestic Sedona.

I discovered a little piece of heaven last week… and it's called L'Auberge de Sedona in the heart of the red rock mountains in Sedona, Arizona.

There's a lot of mystery and intrigue surrounding the area of Sedona, from stories of strange occurrences near what is known as vortexes to shops selling crystals, rocks, or aura, psychic, and palm readings. But it's also an outdoorsmen's idyllic escape, with more than 200 hiking trails, helicopter and hot air balloon tours, kayaking, and countless other activities. And, if you're a wine-lover, the variety of beautiful wineries in the Verde Valley region will make you a fan of Sedona. Whether you're looking for some R&R or to discover new places and things to do, Sedona's got it all.

And nestled amongst it all – the magic, the red landscape, the unspoiled green spaces – is L'Auberge. Recently undergoing a substantial renovation, there are different rooms to choose from, like Oak Creek-side cottages to suites overlooking the infamous red rocks. Their outdoor pool and whirlpool were the perfect places to unwind after a four-mile hike at West Fork in Coconino National Forest, as were their dreamy outdoor showers, an amazing perk to their spacious accommodations. An in-room stretch massage was not only relaxing but kept aching muscles at bay after mornings of outdoor yoga on the lawn and afternoons enjoying a "Water to Wine" adventure kayaking to Alcantara winery. Mornings were spent feeding the ducks and evenings I joined other guests at star-gazing sessions on an observatory deck of the resort. And the food was indescribably delectable at L'Auberge… nothing short of extraordinary.

If you get the awesome opportunity to check out the Sedona area of Arizona, be sure to stay a night (or two, or a few!) at L'Auberge. It will make you fall head-over-heels in love with this area of the desert.

Bon Voyage,
