Seth Gabel Won’t Be a Regular During ‘Fringe’ Season 5

Lincoln Lee may be gone for good, but there is some hope for a return.

Near the end of the fourth season of "Fringe," Seth Gabel's Lincoln Lee made his choice to remain on the other Earth alongside the alternate Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) and her Fringe team before the Bridge linking the two universes was closed, possibly forever.

And that may also be the very last time we see Lincoln Lee on "Fringe."

According to TVLine, Gabel will not be a regular cast member of "Fringe" during its fifth and final season. Nor does it appear that Gabel will be back on a recurring basis as he was in the third season of the series.

“I don’t think [we'll see Lincoln again],” said Anna Torv during an interview with TVLine. “Unless we go to the other side, no.”

However, the same report notes that Gabel could guest star during the fifth season, but nothing appears to be set in stone. If Gabel doesn't return, it seems unlikely that the alternate Fringe team will be revisited as the series nears its conclusion.

Prior to his time on "Fringe," Gabel appeared in "Nip/Tuck," "The Closer," "CSI," "The United States of Tara" and "Dirty Sexy Money." Gabel wasn't cast in any TV pilots for next season, so he may still be available for "Fringe" if something can be worked out.
