Today, Activision announced their pre-order incentives for The Amazing Spider-Man through retailers such as Amazon and GameStop. If this were a contest, Amazon definitely came out on top.
As was reported earlier this year, Stan “The Man” Lee will be a playable character in The Amazing Spider-Man if you pre-order the title through Amazon. The Stan Lee expansion will introduce a special mission where players get to control the renowned creator in a race to track down lost pages from his latest script spread across Manhattan.
Stan will be borrowing his friendly neighborhood Spider-Man’s tools, namely his web-shooters, charm and quips. You’ll also be presented with a special treat if you finish the mission. Activision teases something that coincides with Spidey’s 50th anniversary this year.
As for GameStop pre-orderers (?), those folks will get to play as Rhino in a special “challenge” mission that lets you level downtown Manhattan with his unique abilities.
Playable Stan Lee versus playable Rhino. The choice seems obvious to us.
You can pre-order The Amazing Spider-Man from either retailer starting today. The game ships in North America on June 26.
