A sequel to the 2006 hit RTS game, Company of Heroes, is in the works at THQ. Company of Heroes 2 has been officially announced, with an expected launch of early 2013 for PC.
Developed by Relic Entertainment, Company of Heroes 2 will move the action to the Eastern Front of World War II to show the “iconic Red Army repelling the Nazi invaders from the very gates of Moscow.”
The game will utilize Relic’s proprietary Essence 3.0 engine, allowing for “innovative dynamic battle tactics, increased graphical fidelity and new environmental destruction.”
Greg Wilson, Producer at Relic Entertainment commented, “Company of Heroes 2 is a true successor, introducing a new front, new protagonists and new technology while retaining the unique mix of strategic gameplay and competitive multiplayer that made the original Company of Heroes such a success.”
Company of Heroes 2 is expected to launch in 2013 for the PC platform, exclusively.
