Fans of the hit CTV drama "The Listener" will be happy to know that the show is coming back for season 3, with a unique spin on the premiere show: it will also feature the cast and storyline from "Flashpoint," bringing together two of the country's most highly-anticipated shows.
As the official website disclosed, "This season, Toby becomes involved with a specialized unit of the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) responsible for major crimes and cross-jurisdictional cases: the Integrated Investigative Bureau (IIB). There, after assisting with an undercover case, he eventually reveals his secret to Sergeant Michelle McCluskey (Lauren Lee Smith of 'CSI'). Toby is determined to continue to put his gift to good use and help Michelle and her team, including her partner, Corporal Dev Clark (Rainbow Sun Francks as 'Stargate Atlantis'), and lawyer Alvin Klein (Peter Stebbings of 'Madison')."
If that weren't exciting enough, a press release also teased by saying that a key character will die in the debut episode. "With the focus of 'The Listener' shifting from the hospital to the IIB, Season 3 delivers a new perspective on an established favourite," said Phil King, President, CTV Programming and Sports, in the same release. "With the death of a major character, a roster of strong guest stars including Peter Outerbridge and Fefe Dobson, and the 'Flashpoint' crossover episode, the new season delivers ongoing drama for established fans of the series and potential new viewers."
Guest stars throughout the third season of "The Listener" will also include TSN’s Glen Suitor and Wes Williams. The third season of "The Listener" will air on May 30th at 10pm on CTV with encore episodes airing on Sundays at 7pm beginning on June 3rd.
