This past weekend we got a chance to check out Yager Development's first foray into the Spec Ops series with Spec Ops: The Line. We also got an opportunity to talk with the lead writer on the project, Walt Williams. Walt explains to us that Spec Ops: The Line takes heavy influence from the war films of the 1970s — Apocalypse Now, Platoon and Full Metal Jacket, to name but a few — instead of the Pro-American war films of today. This is what gives The Line it's unique tone and narrative, says Williams.

Give the video interview below a watch to hear what else Williams has to say about the upcoming shooter.
