A new aluminum based body constructions helps reduce weight. Styling is much more aggressive with shorter overhands, larger side air intakes, and squarer headlights in the mold of the 918 Spyder hybrid and the Carrera GT. All in all, creases are much more defined, although not on the level of a Hyundai Sonata just yet.

The 2012 CES premiered an all-new QNX CAR 2 infotainment system with cloud connectivity and a dash interface modeled in the style of a Blackberry Playbook. It includes voice command, Bluetooth, a VoIP calling console, and an HTML5 supported web browser.

Look for the list of cloud connected apps to grow by the month as Android makes a surge.

The 2013 Porsche Boxster comes with the choice of two engines: one new 2.7 liter for 265HP and the other a 3.4 liter S engine for 315HP.  This translates to a 5.4 second 0-to 60 mph for the Boxster and a 4.7 0-to-60 time for the Boxster S. Transmissions include a 6 speed manual and a 7 speed PDK dual clutch automatic. All in all, the new construction changes account for15% in improved fuel efficiency.  No EPA numbers have been reported.

Look for the 2013 Porsche Boxster to debut at the Geneva Motor Show this March with a release date by Fall.
