With the highly anticipated second season of "Game of Thrones" coming on April 1, HBO has been steadily gearing up for a return to Westros.
In this newly released featurette, "Game of Thrones" executive producers D. B. Weiss and David Benioff take viewers behind-the-scenes of Dubrovnik, the great walled city within Croatia that stands in for one of the most important locations of the series: King's Landing.
Art Director Tom McCullah and director Alan Taylor also speak about the challenges of shooting within the city, while Peter Dinklage describes it in glowing terms. Emilia Clarke also speaks briefly on another location that is being used for Qarth, a city where her character, Daenerys Targaryen will spend significant time there in season 2.
"Game of Thrones" season 2 adapts the second George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, "A Clash of Kings." After the events of season one, the conflict between King Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) and the newly crowned King of the North, Robb Stark (Richard Madden) extends to include Renly Baratheon (Gethin Anthony), Balon Greyjoy (Patrick Malahide) and the increasing fanatical Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane), all of whom seek to claim their power over Westros.
Don't miss the second season premiere of "Game of Thrones," on Sunday, April 1, only on HBO!
