Next month, Techland will be introducing new story-driven downloadable content to their open-world, zombie-killing FPS, Dead Island. According to Techland, the new content, entitled the “Ryder White DLC,” will reveal a new side to the Dead Island story.

Here’s what Techland had to say about the upcoming content:

"The DLC stars Ryder White as a newly playable character and offers a single player campaign with several hours of story content with twists and turns that will shed new light on the game's happenings. Two blueprints and weapons will further expand the already impressive arsenal of Dead Island."

Players familiar with Dead Island will know the character Ryder White as the main game’s lead antagonist. Now players will get to fill his shoes for a new perspective on the Dead Island narrative. It also looks like this DLC is the first content for Dead Island meant to be played solo. Ideally, Dead Island is a cooperative experience. Therefore, it should be interesting to see how this change-up affects the overall gameplay.

The “Ryder White DLC” will launch on February 1st for 800 MS Points on Xbox 360 and $10 on PS3 and Steam. Will you be picking it up? Sound off in the comments below.
