With the return of "Archer" to FX coming in just over a week, creator and executive producer Adam Reed has been spilling a number of details about the third season.

During a podcast appearance for the Huffington Post TV, Reed revealed that Bryan Cranston ("Breaking Bad") will lend his voice to the two part season finale of "Archer." Revisiting his comedy roots, Cranston will portray Commander Drake, an "earnest, conscientious astronaut" attempting to put down a mutiny on a space station.

Naturally, Sterling Archer (H. Jon Benjamin) will eventually make his way up to the space station in the finale. However, Reed hinted that several ISIS employees will undergo space training in the first part of the episode and potentially accompany Archer on his mission.

"I love it when everybody gets to go [on a mission]," noted Reed. "So a lot more people than you would think get to go to outer space."

However, Cranston's appearance is at least thirteen weeks away. For next week's third season premiere, Burt Reynolds will appear as himself as he dates Archer's mother, Mallory (Jessica Walter).

"The script was, like, writing about Archer's hero and my hero. There was a lot of adulation," admitted Reed, who also stated that Reynolds was more than open to some jokes about himself. "He was like, 'Let's talk about how some of my movies weren't good.' He made a lot of jokes at his own expense, so if I could think he was any cooler, that did it."

Jack McBrayer ("30 Rock") will also guest star in a later episode as the brother of ISIS agent, Ray Gillette (Reed), with Michael Rooker ("The Walking Dead') also slated  to appear in the same episode as a corrupt sheriff.

Reed also hinted at several episode plotlines for the season, including an exploration of Pam (Amber Nash) and her past as an underground drift racer with Yakuza ties, Archer's misadventures while lost in a South American jungle, Cyril (Chris Parnell) becoming a field agent and a "disastrous train ride" to Canada.

The third season of "Archer" debuts on Thursday, January 19.
