NBA Is Back, Thank God!

The NBA does its’ best to make us forget the lockout with great games on Xmas.

I for one was pretty bummed out about the ongoing NBA lockout. It appeared two stubborn groups of millionaires depriving little old me of all my basketball joy. Well, those days are over.

The Knicks and Celtics played the early game of the day with the Knicks winning 106 to 104. Garnett missed a possible game tying shot with 1 second left to give the Knicks their first victory. Garnett then proceeded to attempt and choke the Knick’s Walker. Ho Ho Ho. Merry Christmas to you Kevin. The league will be reviewing the incident for possible suspensions. The Knicks offense looked stagnant at times and relied too heavily on Melo. They hope Baron Davis will eventually fix this problem.

The Bulls squeaked out a W over the Lakers with an 88 to 87 victory with Kobe getting blocked on a drive to the hole in regulation. The Lakers were up by 7 late in the game, but a pair of turnovers by Bryant and a Rose jump-hook in the lane proved the difference with 1:30 left in the game.

The Mavs had a great day putting up their first ever championship banner. Then they got the spit knocked out of them by the Heat. Stop celebrating last year already. The lockouts over and the Heat are pissed. LeBron went off for 37 points and the Mavs must feel like their championship year is distant history.

The Thunder beat up on the Magic 97 to 89 and in all reality this game was nowhere near this close. The Thunder always had this game well in hand, as the Magic had no answer for Durant who tossed in an easy 30. Westbrook never even really got going for OKC, but they didn’t seem to need it as they cruised to victory.
