It’s no secret we’re incredibly pumped for Alan Wake’s next adventure in Alan Wake’s American Nightmare. The XBLA-exclusive title was revealed a little over a week ago at the Spike Video Game Awards, but outside a minute-long trailer, we didn’t get much more information. That is until today. It seems the embargo has lifted on preview coverage for the title, leading a number of gaming press outlets to post their impressions and what I’m about to show you below: an extended trailer for Alan Wake’s American Nightmare.
There’s a reason why Remedy is not calling American Nightmare a full-fledged sequel to the original Alan Wake. This new game not only has a wildly different setting and tone, but also has many more inspirations being plugged into it to turn it into something more than a horror-thriller. Action will also play a much larger role in American Nightmare, making up roughly 66% of the experience instead of only 33% like in the original title.
Basically, there are a lot of things differentiating American Nightmare from its older, retail brother. But I digress. Instead of listening to be babble on, why don’t you give the extended trailer below a watch.
Alan Wake's American Nightmare is planned for an early 2012 release on Xbox Live Arcade.
