Stan Lee's POW! Entertainment and 1821 Comics are teaming up to give Lee, living legend of the comic book format, a chance to take a crack at a classic story that even predates the 88-year-old co-creator of Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, the Incredible Hulk and more. William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
Lee and Terry Douglas have completely reimagined the setting, turning the feud between the Montagues and the Capulets into a full-fledged future war between cyborgs and genetically-engineered humans, and Max Work will be scripting the story while Skan Srisuwan provides the artwork for Romeo and Juliet: The War.
Check out this video trailer for the project – how strange is it to hear Stan Lee doing Shakespeare? – and then see some of the art being crafted for this story, due to hit shelves on November 30.
