Hey there! Do you want to see The Dark Knight Rises?
Sorry, stupid question. Do you want to see six minutes of The Dark Knight Rises?
Okay, that's also a stupid question. Would you mind seeing Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, the live-action debut of director Brad Bird, who has never made a bad movie before in his life, just to see those six minutes?
Okay, those were all stupid questions. Yes, we've finally got one of those rare win/win situations, when we get something we really want, and all we're asked in return is to do something we really want to do anyway. Slash Film has uncovered a scoop, which they claim is confirmed although Warner Bros. is silent on the issue, which says that a full six minutes of Dark Knight Rises footage will be screened in front of IMAX prints of Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol when it premieres in December. You may commence celebrating, we don't mind.
No word yet on what this footage might contain, but Slash Film is describing it as a "prologue," meaning it could be footage specifically shot as a preamble to the hotly awaited new film. Then again, it could just be a super-extended trailer. We're waiting on details. That doesn't matter too much though, does it? We're all going to see it either way.
CraveOnline will be back with more Dark Knight Rises preview news as soon as it becomes available.
