Last spring, Brandon Jay McLaren's  Bennett Ahmed was a pivotal figure in the murder investigation of Rosie Larson on AMC's "The Killing." And while Ahmed's survival was an open question by the end of the season, McLaren has already signed on for his next television series.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, McLaren has closed a deal to appear in at least seven episodes of TNT's "Falling Skies" when it returns for its second season in the summer of 2012. McLaren will portray Sunil Chutani, an "overwhelmed mechanic" who spent a fortune on his Ivy League education and was only days away from launching his own IPO before the aliens first attacked.

Prior to "The Killing," McLaren was perhaps best known for playing Jack Landors, the Red Power Ranger on "Power Rangers: SPD." McLaren has also co-starred in "Harper's Island" and "Being Erica" in addition to guest appearances on "Smallville," "The Chris Isaak Show" and "Blade: The Series."

McLaren also appears in the recently released, "Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil."

The second season of "Falling Skies" is currently in production in Vancouver, with an expected season premiere in June or July 2012.
