Filming is already gearing up in Albuquerque, New Mexico (don't forget to take that left turn!) on Arnold Schwarzenegger's comeback vehicle The Last Stand. The action superstar plays a small border town sheriff   standing in the way of a drug cartel fleeing the United States into Mexico. But Schwarzenegger's 64-years-old now, and not above asking for a little help. Enter Zach Gilford, the star of TV's Friday Night Lights.

Deadline reports that Gilford has just joined the cast of The Last Stand as one of Arnold Schwarzenegger's deputies. The casting marks a change of pace for Gilford, who to date has appeared mostly in television shows like FNL and Off the Map, and in smaller films like Post Grad and Super. The rest of the cast of The Last Stand remains largely up in the air, although we have learned that Peter Stormare will play one of the main villains.

On the lighter side, it's funny how every piece of action movie casting these days feels like an audition piece for The Expendables, doesn't it?

We can't get too excited about this casting news since didn't watch Friday Night Lights, but then again few people did. Were you one of them? Is this good news?

CraveOnline will be back with more The Last Stand news after we fortify our positions.
