Americans still have trouble getting excited for foreign films. Maybe we're spoiled by having such a prominent film industry of our own, with major American releases out in theaters every single week. Maybe we're just jerks. Who knows? But Fox is doing its best to get its stable of foreign films out to the masses with its new brand: Fox World Cinema, a banner under which new foreign films like the Chinese martial arts movie The Butcher, The Chef and the Swordsman and the Indian police story Dum Maaro Dum will be released in the future. In a smart move to give the Fox World Cinema label validity, Fox will also release existing, popular films like Slumdog Millionaire and Night Watch under the new brand.
Still not sold? Check out the new trailer for their upcoming releases. Dum Maaro Dum looks especially nifty to us. What about you?
