Later this year, Sony will be publishing a new survival horror title to the PlayStation Network called Amy. The game is being developed by Paul Cuisset, best known for his early ‘90s game, Flashback. Amy represents a new take on the survival horror genre, one that actually shifts the focus back to players feeling defenseless against the hordes of Hell.

The official PlayStation Blog has a nice write-up currently posted about this upcoming PSN title. It’s an interesting read that has this survival horror fan giddy at the possibilities. The game is also looking quite incredible, as demonstrated with the below video, which displays the graphical tech behind the title. One of the mission statements for this game is to deliver an experience that bridges the gap between cheaper, indie projects and “very ambitious Blu-ray titles.” From the look of things, Amy might deliver on that front in spades.

Sony is promising a gameplay reveal for Amy soon. Personally, I can’t wait to see how the unique partner system of Amy works. If you consider yourself a fan of horror games, this is one you’ll want to keep an eye on.

We’ll have more on Amy when new information breaks.
