We saw it with Rockstar and Team Bondi’s L.A. Noire, now we’re seeing it with Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Studios’ Mortal Kombat. Warner Bros. has announced a “Season Pass” for all Mortal Kombat downloadable content that works in the same way as the Rockstar Pass for L.A. Noire. By paying a one time discounted fee, you can lock yourself in for all future DLC for Mortal Kombat, starting on June 21st with the launch of the Skarlet add-on.

NetherRealm Studios has plans to release character add-ons that brings Kenji, Rain and another unannounced fighter to MK, each with their own move set, a ladder arcade story ending and two fatalities. This Season Pass lets you swoop them all up without the hassle of buying each one separately as they release.

The Mortal Kombat Season Pass will be available on the same day as the Skarlet DLC, June 21, for 1200 MS Points. Each add-on will cost 400 MS Points separately. By doing simple mathematics, people who buy the Season Pass will save themselves 400 MS Points. So if you plan to pick up all the Mortal Kombat DLC, the Season Pass is the way to go.

What’s odd is that the Season Pass is not being offered to PlayStation Network users. However, PlayStation users will be able to purchase the add-on packs for $4.99 each as they launch.
