More information has come to light regarding Remedy’s next Alan Wake game. You know, the one that isn’t a direct sequel or DLC to the original game.

An “extremely close” source to XBLAFans has told the site that the new Alan Wake game is subtitled “Night Springs” and is headed to Xbox Live Arcade. This so-called source is claiming to have seen screenshots of the title, but provides no further details.

Usually in a case like this, where there’s very little to go off of, we’ll just hold off and wait for the official announcement before reporting. But even with such minuscule details, there are a few things that line up that make this sound plausible (plus, we can't hold back our excitement for more Wake). For one, Remedy’s head Oskari Hakkinen did confirm that there is a new Alan Wake title on the way and that it wasn’t a sequel to the original. Hakkinen also said that the new game would be newcomer friendly. This immediately makes us think that the new title could be a standalone, discounted-rate downloadable game. Secondly, the title “Night Springs” refers to the Twilight Zone-esque television show within the Alan Wake universe, giving the title some weight of authenticity.

However, Remedy is remaining quiet on the subject. VG247 reached out to the developer to get a comment on the story, but they're unfortunately “keeping a lid on it.”

“We really are super excited about the next Alan Wake installment, it’s going to be awesome,” said Remedy’s Oskari Hakkinen to VG247. “We can’t wait to tell you more about it, but at this point in time we are keeping a lid on it until our official announcement, stay tuned.”

We’ll wait forever for you Remedy. Forever.
