In researching this post we found four interesting facts about Mary Todd Lincoln:
1. There are only 26 known photographs of Mary Todd Lincoln.
2. She did not look like Mary Elizabeth Winstead in any of them.
3. Mary Elizabeth Winstead is playing her in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter anyway.
4. We’re perfectly fine with #3.
Yes, The Scott Pilgrim vs. The World star has signed to play First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln for Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov in the upcoming horror adventure Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, opposite relative newcomer Benjamin Walker in the great emancipator (of vampire’s hearts from their ribcage). Winstead has a great tracked playing smart, complicated romantic roles in films like Scott Pilgrim (and we think the underrated Sky High counts while we’re at it), and we look forward to seeing her fall in love, suffer from clinical depression and hopefully kick some bloodsucking Confederate ass all at the same time. Hollywood Reporter had the story.
CraveOnline will return with more Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter news as it chops down cherry trees searching for pots of gold. Oh wait, we’re thinking of George Washington: Leprechaun Wrangler. That’s a not even a real movie, but it should be…
