Sanctuary, the top-rated show on the SPACE channel, is back for a new season on April 15th.

Recipient of the Primetime Emmy award for Outstanding Special Visual Effects in 2008 along with a number of other prestigious honours (including the Gemini Award as well as several Leo Awards), “Sanctuary” stars Amanda Tapping (“SGU Stargate Universe” and “Riese”), Robin Dunne (“Dead Like Me”), Christopher Heyerdahl (“Caprica” and “Mirador”), and Ryan Robbins (“Mortal Kombat”).

It’s the third season of the popular award-winning science-fiction program, and the SPACE network has signed on for 10 episodes. After each weekly instalment Teddy Wilson and Ajay Fry will host the SPACE original series “INNERSPACE,” where they will explore the making of “Sanctuary” with in-depth analysis, exclusive interviews and never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage.

“Sanctuary” has also been renewed for a fourth season.

The show follows scientist Dr. Helen Magnus (played by Tapping) as she and her team shelters a clandestine population of strange and often scary beings, creatures that most people don’t believe exist. Much of the show is filmed in front of a green screen with the revolutionary RED® camera to enhance its awe-inspiring images and locales, hence gaining them the notoriety they’ve earned for being on the cutting-edge of CG technology and special effects.

Season 3 of “Sanctuary” premieres on Friday, April 15th at 10pm on SPACE – if you miss the show on television you can always catch the podcast of the episode on
