An updated Soundwave 2013 line-up has been released with a few extra bands being included for the February festival.
Joining the likes of Metallica, Linkin Park, Blink 182, A Perfect Circle, Paramore, Garbage and Slayer will be Alter Bridge lead guitarist, and former Creed guitarist, Mark Tremonti plus controversial Canadian pop punk group Living With Lions.
Tremonti released a debut solo album in June entitled All I Was while Living with Lions released their second full-length album last year, Holy Shit, after having lost two band members and Canadian government funding support in the process.
New York deathcore band Dr. Acula were part of the festival’s third announcement in September, but guitarist Bill Graffeo has since announced the group’s intention to breakup. The band cancelled their European tour last week stating “lineup problems, health problems and financial problems”.
Soundwave 2012 also featured a bunch of changes with Dragonforce, Hole and Black Tide all pulling out.
Two well-aged acts announced returns Down Under with national tours planned for early 2013.
Black Sabbath will tour in April, their first time in Australia since 1974, with original band members Ozzy Osbourne, bassist Geezer Butler and guitarist Tony Iommi all committing to the tour.
The group reformed last year, releasing the first album from the original cast in 33 years. A studio album is in the works and is expected to be released in early 2013.
Iggy Pop makes his return with The Stooges and will play at the 2013 Bluesfest. The band has made recent trips to Australia which included performances at the 2006 and 2012 Big Day Out, but this will be the first time they have headlined a tour.
Crave has everything Australia covered.
