This year's lineup is shaping up to be a can't-miss experience, whether or not you partake of the skunky green.

The mix of talent for the 2012 Smokeout Festival is getting more exciting by the week, with a slew of additional performers having been announced for the March 3 event at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino.

Cypress Hill has announced a collection of new acts added to the bill, including Thievery Corporation, Rusko, Low End Theory (Daddy Kev, Gaslamp Killer, D-Styles, Nocando), DJ Muggs, Curren$y and Daedelus. Additional acts will be announced in the weeks leading up to the festival.

The concert, which will have two stages, features over 20 artists including headliners Sublime with Rome, Korn, Wiz Khalifa, Cypress Hill, The Dirty Heads, Café Tacuba and more. The Smokeout Festival will also feature the Medical Marijuana Expo featuring “leading hemp industry exhibits and expert panel discussions” as well as a Patient Consumption Area for a “private and peaceful area for registered California medical marijuana patients.”

In other words, there's going to be a designated place for potheads to light up – a curious decision, given that at past Smokeout Festival events the dutchie has been passed on de lef han side openly and in plain view all across the fairgrounds. The cops don't bother patrons who aren't toking in overtly flagrant ways, understanding that doing so would be the equivalent of arresting fat people at Krispy Kreme.
