With the forthcoming release of the hotly anticipated Ladies And Gentlemen: Barenaked Ladies And The Persuasions album, Sessions X is ready for its proverbial close-up.

The pioneering on demand video streaming app captures intimate in-studio performances and behind-the-scenes content in 4K video and HD audio. And, as of March 22nd, every moment of last fall’s convergence between the pop superstars, Barenaked Ladies, and the legendary “Kings of A Capella,” The Persuasions, at Toronto’s Noble Street Studios, will be exclusively available for viewing alongside existing performances by X Ambassadors, Metric, the late Scott Weiland, Michael McDonald, Gowan, Martha and the Vandellas, Ron Sexsmith, Alejandra Ribera, Jeff Martin, and many others.

Accessing these marquee events – each recorded by acclaimed and much-fêted producer Gavin Brown (see chart-topping albums by Billy Talent, the Tragically Hip, Three Days Grace) with ace filmmakers catching everything – is as easy as logging into sessionsx.com or visiting your iOS or Android app store.

“The sessions we’re doing are very special. It’s live in the studio but we do all the normal processes we’ve developed over the years so it’s spit out mixed and mastered just like a record,” said Brown of Sessions X’s unique recordings (in a media release), noting genres from rock to jazz to soul are showcased. Brown continued: “And we’re shooting in a great acoustic environment that also looks good.”

“Using more cinematic lenses and cameras while shooting in 4K with a group of techs who work in film and TV makes it feel like we’re shooting a movie,” added Sessions X main director of photography Rob Scarborough.

Limited free access to Sessions X is available with registration. A $5.99 monthly premium membership gives subscribers uninterrupted, ad-free access to all Sessions X original music programming. New videos are added each week.

Said BNL keyboardist Kevin Hearn, “When I asked Gavin Brown if he would like to be involved in this project he was immediately on board. That meant we would have a great recording and well shot and produced video of this wonderful, rare occasion.”
