Just like there seems to be a story of a teacher hooking up with a student every week, there also seems to be a story about someone who goes bonkers on the road every week, too. Just recently we told you about a Florida man who was so pissed off on the road he pulled out a 25-inch sword. There was also the dude who decided to use his belt as a weapon during a road rage incident. But this story below features a Texas woman who was going around pointing a gun at motorist just because.
Amanda Downs, a 25-year-old woman was arrested recently on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after two separate road rage incidents — one incident was photographed and shows Downs pointing a gun at a motorist. Let me first show you what Downs looks like and tell me if this is the type of woman who looks sane.
Texas Woman Photographed Pointing Gun At People In Bizarre Road Rage Incident
The answer is no, she does not look sane.
The photographed taken of Downs shows her pointing what looks like a gun at a car while driving a red pickup truck. The people she was pointing the gun at? Ben McNeil and his son, Jacob. Take a look at the photo below.
Well then, she certainly looks angry. La Porte Police Department shared the incident on their Facebook and apparently the gun was a “large folding knife cast in the shape of a handgun.”
Here’s how police described it on Facebook.
Just after 7:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 2nd, 2017 the La Porte Police Department received information that a white female, driving a red Silverado pickup truck, pointed a gun at the victim in an apparent road rage incident. The victim captured an image of the driver holding what appears to be a handgun, while they were both traveling on State Highway 225. This was the second report of a road rage incident, identifying a similar time, location and description of the suspect and vehicle in the La Porte area. The previous episode was reported in the month of July 2017.
The LPPD Criminal Investigations Division recognized the case was nearly identical to a previously reported case and immediately went to work. Detectives canvassing the area were able to locate the suspect and her vehicle two days later parked in a nearby industrial park. The suspect was identified as 25 year old Amanda Downs, of Baytown Texas. Downs confessed to both reported incidents, surrendering what turned out to be a large folding knife cast in the shape of a handgun.
As a result of the investigation the Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted the charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Someone get this woman off the road.
