There are times where police don’t do their job and actually let crimes slide. But then there are times where they do their job, and even put their lives at risk to save folks, just like this cop did when he tackled a bat-swinging maniac. And while most cops come across as uptight, some aren’t, and actually go out of their way to have a little fun. Let us explain.
Recently, a 20-year-old student named Lawrence Court from Cardiff University in the UK, was having group chat with his pals when he received an odd message that stated, “”Hello, it’s the police on Cameron’s phone. He is very drunk and we are dropping him home.”
Check out the message below thanks to Court’s Twitter.
Now of course Court and his pals didn’t think this was legit because why would a cop show up on a group chat? And more importantly, why would you torture yourself by entering a group chat?
“We naturally thought it wasn’t real and that Ron (the guy involved) was playing us,” Court told Mashable.
The skepticism continued…
And then this happened.
Here’s a closer look.
That’s right. This cop went ahead and sent a selfie with the most serious face known to man.
“When the selfie came through we were in hysterics, it was so funny!” Court recalls. “Then it was a case of making sure that he was okay so some friends went to check on him!”
So last night the police interrupted our group chat in the most spectacular way pic.twitter.com/prA8HfJOu8

The pals don’t know what the cops did with Ron, but Court assumes they just “put him to bed and continued their shift.”
Or maybe they did this:
