Zuleikha Robinson is a British actress and singer probably best known for her roles on “Homeland” and “Lost.” Her other credits include “Covert Affairs,” “Rome,” “New Amsterdam,” and “The Merchant of Venice,” among other projects. She landed a recurring role on the CBS midseason thriller series “Intelligence.” She’ll play Amelia, “an intelligence officer who has been missing from duty for some time.”
Though born in London, Zuleikha Robinson was raised in Thailand and Malaysia. She is a mix of Burmese-Indian-Malay and English and Scottish ancestry. Her name in Farsi means “Beautiful One.”

Zuleikha described herself on Twitter as “Actress/Traveler/Seeker/Dork.” She got interested in acting when she was 15 and later attended and graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles.

She played Brody and Abu Nazir’s go-between on “Homeland” as journalist Roya Hammad. On “Lost,” she played survivor Ilana Verdansky. She said in 2008, “I definitely like to play characters that don’t fit any kind of mold; that are slightly offbeat, because it’s more fun to play. I read a script and I fall in love with a character.”
In an interview with Esquire about “Homeland,” Zuleikha Robinson said, “It’s so frustrating for me. I never know what to say. I’m like, ‘I can’t saying anything!’” She described how she landed the part: “I hadn’t worked in a little while, and I had just come out of a relationship. It was my first audition after that.”
She said of her career, “I’ve been lucky to play a lot of badasses. And now I can add ‘badass-Covert Affairs’ lawyer to the list.’
A bit of trivia: her favorite game was the computer game “The Longest Journey.”
