Ximena Navarrete is a Mexican model, actress, and television presenter. She is known for winning the title of Miss Universe 2010.
Born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico, Jimena "Ximena" Navarrete Rosete calls her life in one of the biggest cities in Mexico relatively calm compared to her life in New York City after winning the title of Miss Universe in 2010. Prior to winning the Miss Universe competition, the natural beauty began modeling at age 16 while studying nutrition at the Valle de Atemajac University. By 2009, she had entered and won the Nuestra Belleza Jalisco competition, moving on to win the national title of Nuestra Belleza Mexico, as well.
Of course, Ximena's life would change forever after being crowned Miss Universe on August 23, 2010 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Only the second participant from Mexico to win the title in the competition's 59-year history, she was only 22 at the time. Two months later, she was whisked away to Shanghai, China for the 2010 World Expo and Shanghai Fashion Week, followed by being named spokesperson of L'Oreal Paris and Old Navy early on the next year.
Soon discovering that the life of a Miss Universe winner is no walk in the park, Ximena was traveling all over the world from Russia to the Dominican Republic to attend national finals. When not going to pageants, her free time was spent traveling to Panama to work with Aid for AIDS or Guadalajara to raise awareness for Children International. Countless other trips were made to such exotic locations such as Indonesia, France, India, Puerto Rico, Panama, Thailand, Brazil, Guatemala, Chile and Bahamas during her time as Miss Universe, as well.
Once her reign ended, Ximena decided to take on acting. She began playing the dual role of twins sisters Marina Reverte and Magdalena Artigas on the Mexican soap opera "The Tempest" in 2013.
