Sarah Harding is a British singer-songwriter, dancer, model and actress probably best known for her role on the TV show "Popstars: The Rivals" on ITV, which lead to the formation of the group Girls Aloud.
Sarah Harding described herself on Twitter as “Previously 1/5 Girls Aloud…Loving life, making music, my amazin lil Hardcores, and my beautiful dogs!” Her nickname is Saz. Sarah grew up Catholic as an only child in Cheshire, England. She said she was raised in a musical household and attributed her musical genes to her father.

Sarah Harding said she used to flash her boobs on the local rollercoaster when she was 14. She also sent photos to FHM for its High Street Honeys competition. She said she had regrets over her past. “I’m a social animal, I love an audience and when I’m out and about I play up when people egg me on. I was just doing what most girls in their twenties do – the only different was that I was getting photographed all the time.”
She attended Hazel Grove High School and later attended Stockport College, where she studied beauty and hair. She made money working as part of a promotions team, waitressing at Pizza Hut, driving a van and a telephone operator.
In 2002, Sarah Harding was recording dance tracks when she auditioned for “Popstars: The Rivals.” She said she never liked getting up at the crack of dawn when first becoming a pop star. The group Girls Aloud had twenty Top Ten singles, including four Number Ones in the UK.
Sarah Harding was part of the group Girls Aloud from 2002-2013. After the break-up, she turned to acting and landed in the BBC film “Freefall, Run for your Wife” and “St. Trinian’s 2: the Legend of Fritton’s Gold.” On Fritton’s Gold, Sarah contributed three songs to the soundtrack.
In 2011, Sarah entered a rehab facility for depression, prescription drug abuse and alcoholism. She also suffers from OCD and ADD. She said, “I’m 200% better nowadays in terms of my inner strength and attitude…in the band it was a rollercoaster. And yes, I have learned by my mistakes.”
