An Illinois native from the jump, it makes sense that model/actress Kim Iliff would grow up to marry Chicago Cubs outfielder David DeJesus. Taking his last name, the two now have a song, Kingston, together.
Kim is from Wheaton, Illinois, where she was born and raised. Growing up, her family were big Chicago Cubs baseball fans. Her father was, in fact, a season ticket holder. Kim herself was quite smitten with Cubs second baseman Ryne Sandberg. According to her Twitter page, “When I was 7 I had a Ryan sandberg poster in my room and told everyone that I was gonna marry him :) Looks like I just had the wrong name!”
After high school, Kim went on to college at Arizona State University, eventually becoming a teacher. However, in between all that, she still managed to make trips to third world countries during the summers and work in various villages, orphanages, schools and infirmaries around the world (glossedandfound.com). Eventually, she met the love of her life and (at the time) ballplayer for the Oakland A’s David Dejesus. The two would eventually marry, and yet the dream got even better still for Kim.

David DeJesus signed a two-year, $10 million dollar deal to play for the Chicago Cubs in late 2011. Therefore, David and Kim were able to move back to Kim’s hometown of Wheaton, where they have resided since. And in the meantime, Kim continues a life of philanthropy. She, along with her husband, recently hosted the “Strike a Pose” fashion show in Chicago through their non-profit organization, the David DeJesus Family Foundation. The David DeJesus Family Foundation donated all money raised from the event to ALS research. The mission of the foundation as a whole is to “provides comfort and aid to families in crisis who suffer from illness, poverty or disaster and lack access to basic human needs.” (daviddejesusfamilyfoundation.org)
