Stan Lee, co-creator of Spider-Man and other iconic figures like X-Men, Iron Man, and The Fantastic Four, has been added to the incredible itinerary of stars scheduled to appear at the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo at the BMO Centre at Stampede Park in April.

Lee launched his arts and entertainment career in 1939 with Timely Comics, where his job was menial – he was in charge of refilling ink wells, erasing pencils from finished pages, and fetching meals for artists, until Timely Comics would eventually develop into one of the world’s leading comic book production companies, Marvel Comics. Lee, along with Jack Kirby, would go on to create such outstanding characters as Thor, Iron Man, X-Men, The Fantastic Four, and many more. Then, in August of '62, Lee co-created Spiderman with Steve Ditko, launching one of the most well-known, well-loved, and well-received comic book heroes of all time. His career has spanned more than six decades, and comic book fans were elated to hear that Lee would be a part of the Calgary festival events.

Lee joins other stars that include the cast of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" (LeVar Burton, Denise Crosby, Michael Dorn, and Gates McFadden), Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger from the famed "Nightmare on Elm Street" franchise), James Marsters ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer"), Hayden Panettiere ("Heroes"), and Adam West ("Batman").

The Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo will take place from April 27-29. For more info visit.
