So we didn't like The Hangover: Part II. Sue us.* It was funny enough, we suppose, but our biggest complaint was that it borrowed so heavily from The Hangover: Part I that it didn't even need to exist. To continue as a franchise, The Hangover movies desperately need to grow out of their formula. Now it appears that we'll get our wish in the third film, according to an interview co-star Zach Galifianakis recently gave to Rolling Stone:
"They want to do a Hangover III […] I'm getting fricking phone calls already." The article goes on to paraphrase that, '"according to what he's heard, the plot ditches the format of the first two and focuses on his character escaping from a mental institution with help from the wolf pack."
Good. Finally. Sign us up. Of course, this could all just be a part of a storyline that goes back to the same mold – maybe they rescue Zach Galifianakis during a night drugged out debauchery, but we sure as hell hope not.
Crave Online will return with more Hangover: Part III news after we take a few aspirin for this splitting headache.
*FROM CRAVE ONLINE'S LEGAL DEPARTMENT: No, please do not sue us.
