Former God King of the Multiplex Jim Carrey hasn't had a bona fide smash hit since 2004's Bruce Almighty, unless you count animated fare like Horton Hears A Who (but we don't), but with this summer's release of the family-oriented Mr. Popper's Penguins it appears that he's back on track and looking to return to his past hits in order to put himself back on top. What's next? A couple of little sequels to Dumb and Dumber and Bruce Almighty.
Coming Soon had the exclusive scoop, straight from Jim Carrey's amorphous mouth: "We're talking about maybe returning to some old characters that everyone has been asking about […] There's Bruce Almighty and we're talking about maybe another Dumb and Dumber."
You may remember that both films already had sequels (or in the case of Dumb and Dumber, prequels), although you probably don't want to. Dumber and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd was a thoroughly forgettable high school gross out trifle, and Evan Almighty (which starred Steve Carrell) was an extremely expensive flop that many believe prevented Hollywood from focusing on religious themes in their blockbuster offerings in the years that followed.
But then neither of them had Jim Carrey, who can make you laugh with just a subtle flailing of his limbs.
Crave Online will be back with more Dumb and Dumber and Bruce Almighty sequel news, alrighty then?
