If you’re an Android user who owns anything but a Google device, you’ll know that waiting for software updates can be a long and tedious process. Sometimes, the update never even arrives, and you’re left stuck with last year’s features! This is one of the downsides of owning an Android phone. However, because it is Android, there’s a workaround!

“Custom ROM” may be an intimidating term for the average user, but they are really very simple. There are some extremely talented developers working on official custom updates for all kinds of phones, and now we’re starting to see Android Oreo ROMs popping up.
