Ransomware attacks are nothing new. A victim’s system gets infected, the virus finds sensitive data, and then the attacker uses that information to extort money. Well, it’s usually money!
“nRansomware” has a different aim. Rather than money, this virus wants nude photos. In fact, it wants ten nude photos!
Security team “MalwareHunter” reported the hack and shared the screenshot seen below. (Yes, that is Thomas the Tank, and yes, he’s been combined with a “F*** YOU!!!” caption.)
Your computer has been locked. You can only unlock it with the special unlock code.
go to protonmail.com and create an account.
Send an email to email@example.com.
We will not respond immediatly. After we reply, you must send at least 10 nude pictures of you. After that we will have to verify that the nudes belong to you.
Once you are verified, we will give you your unlock code and sell your nudes on the deep web
Got your unlock code and sent your nudes?
Submit your unlock code here:
I grew up watching Thomas the Tank, so this is especially terrifying to me.
The infected are asked to submit nudes in order to unlock their computer. These nudes will then be sold on the “deep web.”
We’d advise taking the usual safety precautions when checking your emails and giving websites your private information. Be especially mindful of odd-looking downloads and emails found in the “Spam” folder.
What a crazy, crazy virtual world!
